A Kid Again

Operating Support (formerly Adventures for Wish Kids)

Smiles, laughter, and friendships are truly life's best medicine! That's what the folks at A Kid Again believe. Founded in 1995, this nonprofit fosters hope and provides encouragement for children and families facing life-threatening illnesses. By organizing a large number of special events and activities throughout the year, A Kid Again creates opportunities for patients to "be a kid again" and for their relatives to connect with other families and develop a caring support network.

A group of volunteers created A Kid Again as a complement to programs that grant once-in-a-lifetime wishes. The agency currently serves more than 1380 children and 5000 family members throughout central and southwest Ohio. As expressed on the organizations website, "Our adventures are unique opportunities to spend quality family time in a fun-filled group activity or destination event outside the hospital. Now, even when our children are sick and in the hospital, they have something to look forward to ... the next great adventure!"

Grants from the Mathile Family Foundation have supported numerous special events planned by A Kid Again, including an annual holiday party for children and families and summer outings to Kings Island.
